Something I've heard over and over here is the fact that the OIP is not being used in the UFC. That is true but as Cameron said in the interview, you can't just view the one inch punch as a trick or a fancy fight ender. You will never find your opponent standing still waiting to be hit as you get in your stance. The possibility of actually using the OIP are slim but the concept of striking in a short distance is what we should focus on

Watch former Navy Seal instructor Paul vunak teach the finer points of how to use your elbow on your attacker for maximum effect and how to train it if ever you need to use it on the street against a large attacker who is hell bent on your destruction. I would not want to be on the end of this

Primary Target Areas Fighting Concepts for self defense
Primary Vital Target Area
*Your main focus and intention should always be to get at your assailant's eyes! *
Everything above the collar bone is your primary striking zone. When asked, many women identify the groin as their number one attack target. Here's why its a close second to the eyes:
- Your attacker needs his eyes to attack you
- It is very hard to attack someone and protect your eyes at the same time (especially in a rape scenario)
- The eyes are the most sensitive target and do not get physically stronger
- The groin is not always available for a direct hit
- It doesn't take much force to afflict a lot of pain
- ANYONE can do it!
Besides the eyes ....
- The throat with finger and thumb jabs
- Box to the ears
- Rip and rake at the ears, mouth, nose and eyes * Pulling the hair
